Danish artist Albert Grøndahl is partnering with Ark Journal and heritage Italian paper supplier, Fedrigoni to create a body of handprinted limited edition artworks.
The series ‘Hortus Conclusus’ explores the concept of healing through nature. It is a reference to the concept of a medieval cloister garden as a mental refuge from everyday chaos. The artist takes an anthropological approach in his work, often focusing on the relationship between nature and human existence and using photography as a basis for his process. The works are created principally through an analogue cyanotype printing method, using light-sensitive material to work with Fedrigoni’s paper.

The series consist of 10 different artworks in an edition of 4.
